Full Description

Pictish symbol stone within Tullich churchyard (NO39NE0002). Numbered as Tullich 1 (NBSC2), it is one of 28 carved stones found at the site. The stone is a Class I symbol stone with double disc and Z-rod (the sides of the discs are truncated at the top) and beast and mirror symbols. The stone is a large andalusite staurolite schist monolith measuring 1700mm tall x 520mm wide x 120mm deep, and of roughly rectangular size. Originally used as a lintel at the top of the window in the north wall of the church. Other Early Medieval stones found at this site include the collection detailed in NO39NE0016. The stone is now in a shelter to the east of the church.
