The hoard was found beneath some large stones at foot of a precipice, and comprised 11 artefacts. 1) a penannular armlet, oval-sectioned, with terminals expanding outwards, measuring 80 mm in maximum diameter (DQ 278). 2) an armlet similar to Artefact 1, with a maximum diameter of 73 mm (DQ 279). 3) an armlet like Artefact 1, but terminals only slightly expanded outwards, three grooves produce a ribbed effect near the terminals. Artefact 3 had a maximum diameter of 60 mm (DQ 280). 4) an armlet like Artefact 3 (DQ 281). 5) an armlet like Artefact 1, with a maximum diameter of 70 mm (DQ 282). 6) an armlet like Artefact 1, with a maximum diameter of 70 mm (DQ 283). 7) annular rings, three in number joined by a thin band of bronze, only one band remains. The diameter of the rings was 51 mm (DQ 284). 8) a bifid type razor with no perforation, measuring 89 mm in length (DQ 285). 9) a penannular necklet with a maximum diameter of 171 mm. The rings are in holders at swollen terminals, 18 holders lie around the circular rod, each with one ring of 22 mm diameter (DQ 275). 10) a penannular necklet with rings in holders at terminals, measuring 180 mm in maximum diameter (DQ 276). 11) a necklet like Artefact 10 with a maximum diameter of 158 mm (DQ 277). The hoard is one of the most striking to have been found in Scotland, and the three penannular neck-rings are rare examples from this country.
