Full Description
Findspot of a hoard of silver and copper coins. The OS Name Book (1868) recorded that more than 100 coins had been found on the farm of Cloisterseat including coins of Charles I, II, Queen Mary, James III, George I and II and Robert Bruce. Two coins were dated 1797 with 'Montrose' written on them and a picture of the town of Montrose. They were in the possession of the farmer in the 19th century but it is not known where they are now.
