Full Description
Scatter of lithics recovered during fieldwalking carried out by CFA Archaeology in January 2023 ahead of construction of a new golf course (NJ91NE0183). A total of 100 flints were recovered from adjacent grid squares which covered part of a relict land surface where natural cobbles had been exposed by the dune blowout. The two other flints were single finds from different areas. The flint assemblage comprised mainly flakes and flake fragments, with only one blade and a bladelet, and eight bipolar cores (all simple flaked pebbles). The debitage was not diagnostic of technology or period and some may have resulted from weathering or other natural physical processes.
