Full Description
A trial trenching evaluation was carried out by AOC Archaeology in June- July 2001 ahead of proposed residential development. This revealed a small metalworking pit of unknown date (NJ80NW0224) and a negative feature containing a single, probably redeposited, flint backed blade. Excavation of an irregular feature (identified as probable burrowing activity) recorded numerous medium sized cobbles and a single body sherd of redeposited coarse prehistoric pottery. Although trenching was extended around these features no other significant associated features or finds were found.
