Full Description

Stone axe mould of quartzose sandstone found in 1902 whilst ploughing. The moulds are distributed over the two faces and two sides of the stone. The moulds consist of four flat axes of different sizes forming a finely graded set , two smaller axe-like forms of different sizes and two bars probably used for making plain armlets. It was probably used by an itinerant bronze founder. A cast of the mould was presented to NMAS.
