Full Description

An Elizabethan silver coin was dug up in the garden of the old manse which is thought to have stood in the vicinity of new manse (NJ72NE0081). One face had the inscription 'D : G : Ang: Fr: et Hi: regina' around the queen's head, while the obverse showed the royal arms surround by the inscription 'Posui Deu adjutorem meu'. In 1845, the coin was in the ownership of Rev. Thomas Burnett, Minister of the Parish of Daviot. Present location not known.
