Full Description
Stone axe. A remarkable battle axe of Roe's type IVD, of a stone called 'sandy blaes', foreign to Aberdeenshire, was found in this area. The axe measures circa 145 mm long. Stevenson notes that it can be assigned to the Wessex culture but adds that it is a chronological enigma.
