Full Description

A fragment of a Class I Pictish symbol stone was found in 1974 amongst cleared topsoil in a garden in Kintore, along with a fragment of a quern stone (see NJ71NE0056). The symbols include a beast, a portion of a mirror and a symbol consisting of 2 concentric squares. The outer square is embellished, at 2 opposite corners, with ovals on the exterior and the inner square has been similarly embellished on the interior of the two corners.
