Full Description

A Pictish Class I Symbol stone, ploughed up a little before 1867 in a field named Donaldston Haugh, subsequently built into a small outhouse adjacent to Tillytarmont farmhouse. The stone is of red granite with symbols on one face, comprising a bird sometimes identified as a goose, together with the mirror and mirror-case symbols. Now in Anthropological Museum, Aberdeen University (1984). A second stone (known as Tillytarmont 2) ploughed up on the Haugh in 1944 and of red granite bearing a crescent with V-rod and double disc with Z-rod symbols, is now at Whitestones House (Moray - see Moray HER NJ54NW0001).
