Full Description

Coin hoard. A vessel was found while digging the foundations of a house at Castlehill, Banff. It contained twelve silver coins about the size of a sixpence. One bore a crowned head of 'Alexander...Rex Scotorum' and the other eleven are Edward I of England. Six were in the Banff Museum and six in possession of J. A. Cameron Esq, a solicitor in Banff. No coins now in museum and Cameron not known.
