Full Description

Two rings and several hundred coins of 13th century date found by workmen in 1822 when building a stone dyke. Most of the coins are of Henry III (1216-72), but include William the Lion and John (1174 - 1214). One ring is gold with small dark sapphire, the other iron gilt with pale sapphire similar to Arabian and Indian rings. They are thought to have been hidden around 1240.
