A series of boundary stones are marked on the OS maps of 1846 and 1888. A number of them still survive. They marked the boundary between the parishes of Rothes and Knockando. Three of the stones were recorded during field survey in 2018 ahead of a proposed wind farm (the others were not visited). At NJ189774897 is a small orthostat stone measuring circa 0.5 m high and circa 0.25 m wide, tapering to a slight point at the upper end. No markings were visible on the stone. At NJ19139848905 is a large orthostat stone measuring circa 0.7 m high and 0.4 m thick, tapering to a point at the upper end. No markings are visible on the stone. At NJ1985548603 is a large orthostat stone measuring circa 0.7 m high and 0.4 m thick tapering to a point at the upper end. The faint outline of engraved letters ‘MA’ and a possible ‘H’ are visible on the northern side of the stone. .
