Full Description
Two cinerary urns, which supposedly contained bones and ashes, found while trenching in 1857. They were removed to Finzean House where a fragment of a cordoned urn survived the fire. This fragment of urn has part of the rim, a simple rim with a slight internal bevel and is undecorated. Remains of three applied cordons are present. The pot is decorated with an impressed two-strand z-twist cord or coarse string. Two irregular horizontal lines run circa 15 mm apart just below the lip. The area between the uppermost cordon and the central cordon bears an acute-angled lattice. It lacks bounding horizontal lines. Nothing visible at the site.
