Full Description
Remains of possible shore- or ship-mounted winch. It comprises two square-sectioned oak frame members, one with a finial, which support an iron/steel shaft with integral tooth gear, and capstan or drum. The whole assembly is circa 3 m long and 1.7 m wide. Recorded as part of Scotland's Coastal Heritage at Risk Project. It was not visible during site visit June 2022 during Moray Community Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (CCZAS).
