Full Description
Flat bronze axe found near Darnaway Castle in 1902. It was purchased for the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) in 1902. Described by Schmidt and Burgess as a Biggar variant of Migdale type flat axe, with porous cleaned surface. The sides and faces appear hammered. Length 145mm, butt 21mm, cutting edge 76mm, weight 232 gms.
