Full Description
Bag type Late Bronze Age socketed axe found near Darnaway Castle. No further information. Described by Schmidt and Burgess as an Alford variant of Highfield type Socketed axe, with rough black-green surface, untrimmed, and haft-ribs. Length 76 mm, mouth 29 x 33 mm, cutting edge 69mm, weight 260 gms.
