Full Description
A hoard of silver coins, mainly 4d pieces, of William the Lyon contemporary of Henry II of England, and minted at Edinburgh, Perth, Roxburgh, Stirling and Berwick. The hoard was found in 1780 by workmen during excavation to enlarge the church. About 100 of the coins were acquired by the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland.
