Full Description

Middle Bronze Age bronze dagger of simple form and rough workmanship. Presented to NMAS 1937-8. According to their records the dagger or rapier blade was found in a cairn at Morlich Towie Quarry. It is of a Group II type with a lozenge-section blade shape. These types of blades first appear around the 15th century BC during complex changes which saw the transition from the Early to Middle Bronze Age metalworking traditions.
