Full Description
Fragment of a Pictish carved stone, Class II, decorated on one side with mirror and comb symbols and a cross. It was found in a pile of stones containing stones from the ruins of the first church at Drainie (NJ16NE0013) which was cleared in 1953 (location of stone dump circa NJ 1910 6945). It stood for many years outside the Headmaster's room at Gordonstoun School. It was donated to Elgin Museum in 2009 (NJ26SW0063) and is on permanent display there. Thought to have originally come from Kinneddar (NJ26NW0001, NJ26NW0026).
