Full Description
Bowmen's Road, running between NJ 4800 5125 and NJ 5399 5435. The remains of a road or entrenchment, the defensive side towards the south depicted on historic OS maps. It is supposed to have been made by the Scots as a roadway leading between encampments, and as a defensive work in repelling the Danes. This feature is now considered to be a drove road, not an entrenchment.
