Full Description

Remains of enclosures. A substantial bank and ditch (3m wide by 1m deep) encloses a large regular trapezoidal area. The bank is a low, broad feature with occasional large stones protruding and is variously clad in grassy turf, bracken and heather. The ditch is an external feature and varies from a slight linear depression to a deep well-defined U-shaped cut. This feature may be a possible plantation bank. The site was visited during rapid walkover carried out by D Hall in March 2021 ahead of proposed woodland creation scheme. This recorded four banks suggested to be remains of plantations that were not used.
