Full Description

Square tooled grey granite ashlar mausoleum with vault, dated 1807. It is set within the Ballindalloch Castle designed landscape (NJ13NE0004). Polished sandstone ashlar wallhead cornice, plinth and obelisk. Each face of mausoleum with shallow advanced centre portion framing blind depressed arch with square-headed blind doorway within. Rusticated quoins, deep eaves band, moulded eaves cornice below crenellated wallhead. Centre square plinth on roof with inscribed (Latin) panel in the west face and moulded cornice, formerly supporting short obelisk with draped urn in relief. Entrance to vault in west containing marble sarcophagus.
