Full Description
Remains of pits or ditches. In the east-northeast edge of a quarry, up against the boundary fence, are two pits or ditches, only 2.5m apart and with similar dimensions and fills. Fill of east feature consists of humic material compacted with gravel pebbles and some larger cobbles. Some charcoal flecks (max 1cm) can be seen. The west feature appears to have a slightly higher proportion of grits and pebbles, but there is still a high humic content, as well as charcoal flecking near the base. The sequence, from the bottom is as follows: humic material/ sand and gravel/humic material. Both features have broad U sections.
