Full Description

Remains of a trench system recorded by Cameron Archaeology in 2014, within tree cover at the time of survey. See also NJ91SW0155. Two areas were identified. F20 is a series of hand-dug zig-zagging U-shaped trenches forming wo conjoined squares 48 m by 49 m. The trenches vary in width but are typically 3.2 m to 3.6 m wide and up to 0.75 m deep although they have been partially infilled. To the east is a smaller area of similar trenches forming a roughly T-plan 27 m by 25 m. These trenches may be practice trances of the Gordon Highlanders.
