Full Description
Remains of rig and furrow cultivation traces occupy the flat portion of the floodplain area adjacent to the north bank of the Ythan, recorded during a walkover survey by Mercer and Ralston in 1989 prior to a proposed extension of Bellmuir Quarry (NJ83NE0181). They are generally oriented parallel to the river and have been traversed by a number of drainage ditches. A desk based assessment carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in 2016 ahead of proposed development of Bellmuir Quarry and subsequent field observation noted the site (S20.10) as present but did not record any further details, with the site located outwith the proposed development area.
