Full Description
Remains of enclosure, sub-rectangular with rounded corners, recorded during a walkover survey by Mercer and Ralston in 1989 prior to a proposed extension of Bellmuir Quarry (NJ83NE0181). It contains an area of rig and furrow within which lies a hut-circle (NJ83NE0037). May be of prehistoric date with secondary refurbishment. A desk based assessment carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in 2016 ahead of proposed development of Bellmuir Quarry and subsequent field observation noted the site (S5) as present but did not record any further details, with the site located outwith the proposed development area.
