Full Description

Remains of the old road from the settement at Spital of Gelnmuick eastwards down the Glen. It leaves the present road south of the main farmstead buildings - between the policies of the Ranger's House and the sheepfold, running between the longhouses to the Allt Darrarie which it fords immediately south of the small island. Eastwards it passes through the platantion as a green hollow way road running roughly south-north to rejoin the present road. The route appears to be flanked in some places by widely spaced boulders, particularly noticeable in the vicinity of the longhouses. It is shown on the 1867 OS 1st edition map as the route through the Glen, but had been altered to its present route by the time of the 1888 2nd edition OS map.
