Full Description
Remains of a section of disused railway depicted on the OS 1st edition map. It linked the Caledonian Railway's Newtyle Branch with the Scottish North Eastern Railway at Alyth Junction. This section is shown as dismantled on the 2nd edition map. The Newtyle-Alyth Junction line was opened in August 1868, closed to passengers on 01/10/1955 and to all traffic on 07/09/1964. Part of this section survives as an earthwork on the western and northern edge of Nethermill Wood.
