Full Description
Cragganmore Distillery, opened in 1869. Some of the 19th Century distillery buildings still survive including the maltings, a small kiln, and an attractive 5-bay range of single storey, rubble bonded stores. An interesting feature is the farmstead operated in conjunction with the distillery, along with a number of single-storeyed cottages built for the workers. Cragganmore Distillery was the first distillery in Strathspey to be purposely built near a railway line - dedicated sidings and store-houses were specially constructed at the nearby Ballindalloch Station.
