Full Description
Grouse-butts recorded by GUARD during field survey in 1999. They are mainly semi-circular and drystone walled, 2m square with opening to the east. A few show signs of collapse. There is a second line of butts to the east which appear to have been dug into the ground, and which have openings to the west. Walkover survey of site was carried out by GUARD Archaeology in 2021 ahead of proposed woodland creation (NO36SE0079). These were visible as two lines of eight well preserved semi-circular stone-built structures.
