Full Description

Disused quarry. Distinctive Peterhead pink granite was quarried from here for monumental and building purposes. The quarry was closed but subsequently re-opened circa 1986 on a small scale, using a non-explosive carbon dioxide blasting method to extract the granite. Now disused and water filled.
