Full Description
Remains of hut circles, enclosures and rig and furrow. Three hut-circles, several cairns and an area of rig- and-furrow are situated on an area of unimproved ground. The southeasternmost hut-circle (NJ84871509) measures 12m in diameter from east to west by 11m within a grass-grown stony bank. For most of the circuit, the bank is only 1m in thickness and 0.3m in height, but to either side of a broad entrance on the east the terminals expand to 4m in thickness and 0.5m in height. Two short lengths of stony bank extend out from the hut-circle wall on the southeast and north-northwest respectively. The second hut-circle (NJ 8489 1514) lies 44m north-northeast of the first and measures 9.3m in diameter from north to south by up to 7m within a grass-grown stony bank 2m in thickness and 0.4m in height. The line of the wall bulges inwards on the northeast, and there is a probable entrance on the south. The third hut-circle (NJ 8491 1517) lies 19m northeast of the second and measures 9.5m in diameter within a grass-grown bank up to 1m in thickness and 0.2m in height. The bank has been heavily robbed and the arc between the east and the southeast, which probably contained the entrance, has been entirely removed.
