Full Description
Remains of a possible crannog found during tree felling operations. It is a low, fairly flat-topped mound standing 2-3m above a marshy area, roughly 28m in diameter. Four large stones on the west side appear to have been deliberately placed. The area round the edges has a number of small quarry pits which may have been for the construction of a causeway across the marsh. A causeway built of stones and earth runs through the marsh along the east side of the mound. Alternatively it is a possible moated site.
