Full Description
Remains of motte. It consists of a denuded mound circa 27m in diameter and 1.5m high surrounded on the northeast, northwest and southwest by an ill-defined ditch averaging 15m wide and 0.6m deep, which is overlaid in the northwest by a farm-yard extension. The New Statistical Account (1845) notes that it was reputedly the scene of a baronial court where criminals were tried.
