Full Description

Remains of an earthwork described by the OS Name Book (1867) as a 'native camp' traditionally occupied by Robert the Bruce. OS (1943) concluded that this is not a 'native camp' as stated but traffic ruts of an old road converging on a ford. There are others in the northwest part of the wood. RCAHMS site visit confirmed that these are no more than hollowed trackways.
