Full Description
Over 50 stone clearance heaps recorded in association with rig and furrow. The cairns range from 1.5 m - 8 m in diameter. The rig and furrow is very poorly defined in an area circa 0.25 ha, aligned northwest to southeast. A possible hut circle is visible at NJ 5825 0145 on aerial photographs taken while flying area in winter 1999. A walkover survey was carried out by Cameron Archaeology in August 2013 ahead of proposed planting to assess survival and condition of the remains. The features recorded in 1991 are still largely present although some have been disturbed by animal activity, gorse and waterlogging. Two possible circular structures were identified, but will require further work to enable identification of function and date.
