Full Description
Remains of an earth bank, alleged (OS Name Book 1867) to be the remains of a camp. A ploughed-out bank can be traced for about 300m curving across improved pasture on the east shoulder of Maud Hill. It has spread to 6m in thickness and stands at most 0.5m high on the upslope side, though most is little more than a scarp. There are occasional traces of a ditch on the west side. Later field banks, which cross this bank, are themselves ploughed out.
