Full Description

Remains of rig and furrow and cairns recorded by the RCAHMS field visit in 1996. The rigs measure about 3 m in breadth and are aligned north-south. At least five small cairns, the largest measuring 4 m in diameter and 0.4 m in height, were recorded on the north-northeast facing slope. The Forestry Commission, 2007, also recorded an earthen bank which cuts off the northeast corner of the wood, which is shown as wooded on the OS 1st edition map. Two areas of rigs, running north-south with a wavelength of circa 6 m, were centred on NJ 7500 1898 and NJ 7494 1888.
