Full Description

Shell midden at the base of a 5-6m sand dune, reported in December 2013 eroding from the foreshore at Culbin Sands following winter storms. The midden appears to be 10cm deep, and runs for circa 2-3m. It contains a large quantity of crushed mussel and clam shells, with many fish bones and some small animal bones. One piece of pottery has been recovered. No features or objects were observed during site visit as part of Moray Community Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (CCZAS) in June 2022.
