Full Description

Embankments along the River Lossie through Cooper Park, possibly of early construction, which are visible on early town plans (Wood 1822, Ray 1838) and the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps. A watching brief was carried out by Alba Archaeology (Highland) Ltd over the excavation of five trial pits as part of the Elgin Flood Alleviation Scheme. No finds or features of archaeological significance were noted.
