Full Description

Areas of peat cuttings recorded during walkover survey carried out by Liz Jones in June - July 2024 ahead of proposed woodland creation (NJ15SE0079). One at NJ 20015 51643 is roughly square, 20 m across and up to 0.6 m deep: now covered with vegetation and no peat is exposed. To the north, at NJ 19997 51726, is a larger area up to 1 m deep, the peat exposed at the base although most of the edges are revegetated. To the west, at NJ 19754 51738, is a curved peat bank up to 1.2 m high and 10 m across.
