Full Description
Remains of a dyke, depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. Topographic survey was carried out by Headland Archaeology in 2015 ahead of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route. The dyke was set in a deep V-shaped cut into the subsoil which had been filled with an unsorted mass of sub-rounded fieldstone. A tapered stone dyke had been built on this, the central core circa 1m high, the stones laid to form a rough facing at least four courses in height, with smaller sized rubble in the interior.
