Full Description

Remains of farmstead depicted on historic OS maps. It is depicted on the 1st edition OS map as a rectilinear steading with central open court with entrance in the middle of the south-east facing range. A farmhouse lies to the east, a bothy to the north and a mill pond to the west, with a lade leading to a small building on the western side. On the 2nd edition OS map another small building has been added against the eastern side. The main steading has now been demolished and the mill pond has been infilled. The farmhouse and bothy survive. Walkover survey by MAS in 2019 (NO99NW0136) recorded the farmstead. The steading has been demolished. A small stone building north of the house, with hipped slated roof and chimney, may have been a both (or laundry). The house is on an L-plan, one and a half storey, of harled stone with granite chimneys and a slate roof
