Full Description

A drystone field dyke, depicted on the OS historic maps, and recorded during a walkover survey carried out by Alder Archaeology in May 2021 (NO89SW0135), on an area of hillside rough pasture, in advance of proposed afforestation. The dyke is a robust drystone field dyke forming the south and west boundaries of the Hawkhill Wood site, surviving up to 1 m in height and accompanied by a post and wire fence.
