Full Description
Remains of a possible cairn were recorded by CFA in 2013 during evaluation work along the line of the proposed Aberdeen Western Peripheral route. It comprised a vegetation covered mound with a few protruding boulders, and measured 13m by 10m in diameter, standing up to 0.75m in height. A possible kerb was identified on the western side. It was not investigated further at this time and its date and function remains unknown. Topographic survey was carried out by CFA in March 2014. Excavation of the southwest quadrant of the cairn by CFA in March-April 2014 concluded that the mound was not archaeological in origin.
