Full Description
Cookney war memorial stands at the side of the road, opposite the junction outside the parish church. It commemorates the dead of World War I. It is a Celtic cross with interlaced head, standing on a plinth of rough hewn granite into which is inset the plaque bearing the names. It stands on a two-stepped base also of rough hewn granite. It was erected August 21st 1920. There is now some staining and slight deterioration of lettering. Full transcription of memorial held in AAS Digital Archive.
