Full Description
Former manse of Maryculter, which may date from the early 18th century. It was said to have been built 'a good many years before the new church opened in 1787'. It is two-storey, harled with a slate roof. It was inhabited until 1935, with the last resident being Sir Cosmo Duff-Gordon's gamekeeper. The manse was restored in 1936 and later extended. It was taken over by the Boy Scouts Association and renamed 'Templar's Park'. The arched stone fireplace in the 'Baronial Hall' came from no. 38 Castle Street, Aberdeen, a 15th Century property which was demolished in the 19th Century.
