Full Description
Parish church, still in ecclesiastical use, built in 1787 to replace the old church of Maryculter (MAB42647). It is shown on the 1st edition OS map as a rectangular church within an oblong graveyard. On the 2nd edition OS map, it has been extended to the north, and the south elevation has a central projecting section. Current maps show further extensions to the north.
The church is a small rectangular building with a belfry, built of granite blocks with small packing stones. The roofs are slate with small metal ventilators. Inside, the church contains original box-pews. A gabled south aisle was added in the 1882 to house a new organ, and a hall was added to the north end of the church. The hall was extended in circa 2005. The church sits within a graveyard within which stands a war memorial (MAB42559).
