Full Description

Bridge within the Kingcausie estate (NJ80SE0068) carrying a track across a small burn, and which is depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. The bridge is built of six large stones, each spanning the stream and resting on two stone revetment walls. The two outer stones are the largest and form substantial parapets. The remaining stones carry the trackway. A building survey of the bridge was carried out by Headland Archaeology in 2012, ahead of the proposed Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route. Much of the bridge was overgrown with moss. A disused watercourse was observed 7 m to the north-northwest of the bridge, and continuing on the same alignment as the burn running towards a small wash house. The eastern revetment wall cut off the line of the watercourse.
